Owen Hannon is a senior at Raleigh Charter High School who loves to read, write, run, discuss grammatical structures, learn about linguistics, and cook. At his school, he is the Co-Founder and President of the Poetry Club, the Secretary of the Food Science Club, the President of the Social Justice Club, a board member for Model UN, class treasurer, peer mentor, and a varsity cross country, swimming, and track and field athlete. He is also the founder and main blogger of The Constitution Kid, where he frequently writes argument pieces on events in American politics and their relation to constitutional jurisprudence, and a RESULTS advocate, an organization that pushes for legislation that ends domestic and global poverty.
He is a two-time powerpoetry.org Annual Youth Poet, has one published short story, one self-published poetry chapbook, was awarded Outstanding Delegate at the 2021 Model UN Chapel Hill National Conference, and was a finalist in the 2021 New York Times Student Editorial Contest for his piece, “Identical Twinship: An Existential Dilemma.” As Resource Manager, he develops curriculums for the rest of the tutoring team.
