Sarang Deshpande

Sarang is a first-year student at UNC Charlotte studying business with a plan to major in finance and business analytics. He is attending UNC Charlotte on the Belk Scholarship, one of UNC Charlotte’s premier scholarships that allows students an early entry into a Master’s Degree Program related to mathematics in the business field. Throughout high school, Sarang dedicated a lot of his time to The Boy Scouts of America, reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition to Boy Scouts, he was also a member of Key Club and NHS, which reinforced his love for volunteering and leadership. Growing up, Sarang loved to read books and explore the worlds that they created in his head. He started off with Magic Tree House and Geronimo Stilton, but built up to Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Nowadays, Sarang enjoys reading mystery novels, with his favorite being Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. Outside of school, Sarang enjoys spending time with his friends, watching TV shows and movies (sitcoms, Marvel, DC, etc.), and listening to music. His hobbies also include experimenting with new recipes and photography.
